Full-Time Cardiology ARNP
Job Description
Position Scope:
The Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) acts under the direction and supervision as well as administratively accountable to the Medical Director. The ARNP provides direct patient care in accordance with Cardiac Care Group, LLC (CCG) practice site policies, relevant Nurse Practice Acts, and within the limits of their experience, training and privileges.
Requirements:
Working knowledge of basic primary care principles, theory and practice and ability to stay current with recent developments
Ability to perform approved clinical tasks and procedures including but not limited to: Evaluate and treat patient needs, emergency triage, order and administer prescribed medications, assist physician with examinations and treatments and work independently (within nurse practitioner scope of practice), instruct patient in health measures and self-care, prescribe medications within the scope of a nurse practitioner’s license
Ability to document and report finding and observations
See patients in a timely and efficient manner consistent with CCG access standards (30 minutes for a new patient or complex problem, and 15 minutes for follow-up and routine care)
Ability to write prescriptions and make referrals under the supervision of the physician
Physically capable of providing on-site emergency treatment in life threatening situations
Strong patient assessment skills
Ability to work independently; able to seek physician assistance appropriately, using good judgment
Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language fluently and document clearly in the medical record
Ability to interact and communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians, staff and vendors
Five years of nurse practitioner experience in an adult/cardiology practice preferred
Bilingual a plus
Computer literate and ability to utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) system
Graduate from accredited school of nursing and graduation from accredited program for ARNP including preceptorship. Masters degree preferred
Certification by an appropriate ARNP specialty board
Possess a current and valid Florida state license in nursing
Florida state licensed nurse practitioner
Current BLS (basic life support) certified or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire and maintain certification while employed with CCG
Able to be eligible for CCG provided medical malpractice insurance as a Nurse Practitioner
Job Functions:
Performs patient histories and physicals, makes preliminary diagnosis, and treats patients accordingly.
Recommends and orders diagnostic studies and therapeutic interventions and prescribes within the limits of their license
Conducts patient assessments including triage; educates patients on preventive health care (to include family/next of kin) and acute care follow-up as needed
Records appropriately in the medical record
Provide direction to Medical Assistants as needed
Ability to be on-call as directed by Medical Director
Performs other duties as required
