WHO YOU ARE
Friendly, energetic and passionate about your career as a Physician Assistant. You have a bedside manner that makes patients feel comfortable and your sense of urgency keeps you on your toes without missing a beat. You like the busy atmosphere (sometimes chaotic) of the urgent care scene and can manage multiple tasks at once. Being an independent thinker, you enjoy running the clinic under your guidance and you have confidence in your abilities and training.
This is a VERY independent position requiring previous solo experience as a provider. Please do not apply if you are a recent graduate of the PA program.
WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO
- Examine patients to obtain information about their physical condition.
- Interpret diagnostic test results for deviations from normal.
- Obtain, compile and record patient medical data, including health history, progress notes and results of physical examination.
- Make tentative diagnoses and decisions about management and treatment of patients.
- Prescribe therapy or medication with physician approval.
- Administer or order diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests.
- Perform therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and infection management.
- Instruct and counsel patients about prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
- Remain on-site during entire duration of shift.
- Other duties as required.

- Solid understanding of current medical practices and principles

- Ability to be the solo provider and see up to 40 pts in a 12 hour shift
REQUIREMENTS FOR OUR PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS
- 3 years’ experience in the urgent care environment with least 5-7 years as a Physician Assistant
- Previous experience as a solo provider is required
- Positive attitude and a willingness to work as a team member as well as a leader
- Certified as a Physician Assistant in the United States
- Active State license
- ACLS
- NCCPA
- DEA
Our primary PA location is in Chula Vista, at our Partners Eastlake Location, however there could be a shift need at our UTC San Diego location.
Our clinics are open seven days a week and our shifts are 3/12s a week. We are closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.
