Job Description

The Nurse Practitioner will collaborate and consult with the Hospitalist Medical Director, Physician Hospitalists and other physicians focusing on inpatient medicine and the treatment of acute, episodic, chronic, and critical disease states.  This position will also work with a variety of health professionals to diagnose, prescribe treatment, manage, and evaluate patient care; exercise independent judgement in the assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of testing and /or procedures, and interact directly with patients and patient families to maximize patient outcomes.

Qualifications for this position are as follows:

• Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited educational institution; Adult /Gerontology Primary Care and Adult/Gerontology Acute Care courses preferred.
• Current and unrestricted license to practice as a professional registered nurse in the State of Nebraska or compact state.
• Current and unrestricted license to practice as an APRN in the State of Nebraska.
• Current licensure with the DEA.
• Ability to secure an Integrated Practice Agreement with an appropriate physician who is in good standing with the Fremont Health Medical Staff prior to role initiation.
• BLS/ACLS certification. ACLS certification required within 60 days of hire.
• Certification in area of specialty.
• Minimum of three years of acute care experience as a professional registered nurse with one year in critical care. Previous APRN experience in a hospital setting preferred.
