Minimum Salary is $83,990.40 (annually)

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT:
BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsible for providing specialized, high quality, cost-effective health care to the community served, and providing backup to the physician staff of UNMC Physicians.
EDUCATION
Required: Bachelor of Science degree and graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program.
Current BLS certification (BLS with skills assessment or approved BLS)
Current PA licensure to practice in the state of Nebraska
Certification by the National Commission of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Preferred: ACLS Certification
EXPERIENCE
Preferred: Experience working in a physician’s office.
NURSE PRACTITIONER:
BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY:
Provide specialized health services to individuals, families, groups and communities. Diagnose medical conditions, plan and implement interventions, and evaluate patient responses under the direction of and in partnership with a collaborating physician or designated supervising physician. Medical diagnostic, therapeutic and management functions and instituted under medical supervision using protocols or guidelines developed by the individual services/programs.
EDUCATION:
Required: Licensed as an advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (APRN) in the State of Nebraska
Master’s degree in Nursing
Current Registered Nurse in the State of Nebraska
Current BCLS Certification (BLS with skills assessment or approved BLS)
Attain nationally recognized certification examination as a nurse practitioner
Maintain ongoing recertification as APRN
Preferred: Current ACLS Certification
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Five or more years clinical experience as Registered Nurse in a related health care setting
Demonstrate leadership and teaching abilities
Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate in verbal and written form
Ability to work independently
Effective critical thinking and analytical skills
Knowledge of fiscal analysis, word processing, database management, and informatics
Knowledge of health care policy and societal factors affecting the delivery of health care
