Job Description
Pediatrix Cardiology Associates of New Mexico (Albuquerque), an affiliate of Pediatrix Medical Group, has an opening for a Physician Assistant. The successful candidate will become part of the most comprehensive pediatric heart program in the state of New Mexico, which is based at Presbyterian Hospital, New Mexico’s largest tertiary care facility. The practice serves the state’s largest and most experienced congenital cardiac surgical program, a 20-bed PICU, and two large Level-III NICUs. It also conducts a state-wide community-based clinical outreach program. Our practice has extensive experience in all areas of pediatric cardiology including arrhythmia management, fetal cardiology, ACHD, and advanced interventional services including Melody valve implantation.
In collaboration with the supervising cardiologist, the physician assistant will be responsible for the direct care and follow up of patients that match his/her scope of practice. The physician assistant will help assess the patient’s medical status, develop a plan of care, modify medication regimens, and instruct/educate the patient and family on underlying disease processes. Other clinical and administrative duties may also be assigned. There is the potential opportunity for assisting with the coordination of the adult congenital program and various CQI and Research efforts.
