Physician Assistant
Busy New Jersey Interventional Pain Management practice is seeking a permanent full time Experienced Physician Assistant to work directly with the medical director. The multi-location office practice is outpatient and doctors specialize in interventional pain management.
Job Requirements Include:
Experience in Pain Management, Orthopedics or General preferred.
Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:
Perform history and physical exam
Preparation and dictation of pain management plan for each patient based on documented medical necessity
Orders appropriate imaging and diagnostic studies (MRI v. CT, EMG, lab work, EKG, X-rays, etc.), as well as knowing their indications and contraindications.
Interprets necessary pre-operative testing results, clearances, reports, referral responses, labs, etc. and develop appropriate plan of care/manage the results according to current protocols.
Must have basic knowledge of X-rays and imaging pertaining to the lumbar and cervical spine. Must be able to differentiate between T1 and T2 images, axial v. sagittal, various X-ray types and manipulate the imaging system accordingly.
Continuous development of knowledge based on the most up to date methods of pain solutions.
Manages and fully understands the workers compensation patient process.
* Performs therapeutic procedures by administering injections
* Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
* Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
Qualifications- Education, Experience, and Skills:
Required:
Graduated an accredited Physician Assistant program
Associated Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Required:
Demonstrates knowledge and compliance of HIPAA regulations
Demonstrates critical thinking and problem solving skills
Must have excellent time management skills
Must have excellent computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office, diagnostic imaging systems and EMR
Must have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Must possess extensive knowledge of orthopedic, neurological and spinal anatomy and physiology and understand/perform the appropriate exam techniques for evaluation.
Must have knowledge of pre-operative contraindicated medications and supplements.
Must have general pharmaceutical knowledge of common medications ordered for pre- and post-operative patient management: antibiotic therapy, pain management, post-op nausea, etc.
License/Certification:
Must possess current state license where practicing and be nationally certified
The successful candidate will provide the plan of care along with fellowship trained and board certified interventional pain management physicians.
