PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT – NURSE PRACTITIONER
ORTHOPEDIC CLINIC
HANDS & UPPER EXTREMITY SPECIALTY/INTEREST
We are currently seeking a Certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to work in an Orthopedic Medical Facility; and, assist the Physician Surgeon in seeing a busy patient case load of Hands and Upper Extremity patients. There is no surgical assist duties; nor, on call time. This fulltime position offers excellent pay, full benefits and room to grow.
The PA-C or NP will practice medicine under the supervision of one physician/surgeon.
This Physician understands the necessity of a balanced work schedule and quality of patient care.
The PA or NP will spend the majority of the work day treating patients in the Orthopedic Clinic. You will also provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services, as delegated by the Physician. Working as members of the health care team, you will take medical histories, examine and treat patients, order and interpret laboratory tests and x rays, and make diagnoses. You may also treat injuries, by suturing, splinting, and casting. The PA will record progress notes, instruct and counsel patients, and order or carry out therapy.
Long-term, the Physician will delegate substantial Clinic activities to the Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
REQUIREMENTS:
To qualify for this excellent career opportunities, you must have:
Completed a Physician Assistant or NP accredited educational program.
Passed the National Certifying Examination.
Be eligible to obtain a license to practice as a PA or NP in VA.
A Minimum 1 to 3 year prior work experience as a PA; plus hands and upper extremity experience desired, but will consider Candidates with an interest in this area.
