Urological Associates of Western Colorado (UAWC) is a dedicated team of physicians and medical staff committed to urological care. This practice specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of the genitourinary tract in both adults and children. Our board certified physicians are continuously staying up-to-date on the latest medical treatments and surgical techniques.
The Pelvic Health and Wellness Center (PHWC) is the Western Slope’s first multi-specialty approach to women’s healthcare. The PHWC team combines the medical specialties of gynecology and urology to provide a comprehensive approach to treating many common women’s healthcare issues.
General Surgeons of Western Colorado (GSWC) specializes in all aspects of General Surgery including colon, rectal, endocrine, surgical oncology, trauma and advanced laparoscopic surgeries. We are the largest center for minimally invasive surgery in Western Colorado, and we are now Western Colorado’s first center to offer Mammosite treatment for early breast cancer.
Employee will provide support to physicians in either general surgery or gynecology/urology. Employee will generally work 5 days per week, Monday through Friday, 6:30am to 3:30pm, to include possible rounding, occasional consults from the physicians, and assisting in surgery. On days that no surgeries are scheduled, employee will see patients in clinic beginning at 8:00am. The employee may have combined days including surgery and clinic and/or possible weekend and evening call.
Perform complete evaluations on patients. Perform complete pre-operative H & P’s on surgical patients, identifying and alerting the surgeon to any disqualifying conditions that present. Order and interpret appropriate lab, x-ray, and special studies. Establish a working diagnosis based upon acquired data and develop a treatment/surgical plan. Provide appropriate follow-up care; and for urology patients–implement therapeutic intervention. Exercise judgment on conditions requiring consultation, referral, or evaluation by the supervising physician. Evaluate, screen and counsel patients on health maintenance and promote utilization of community resources where appropriate.
Perform surgical assist duties as scheduled for employer physicians. Possibly conduct hospital rounds and consultations on a daily basis of all ward and ICU patients, as needed. Evaluate care and order appropriate labs, special studies, IVs, diet and therapeutic interventions, as appropriate.
See new and follow-up patients and provide intervention that is problem-oriented for his/her condition. Refer patients, when appropriate, to the supervising surgeon and assist in care, treatment, and follow-up as needed. Perform and/or assist in office procedures. Order and interpret lab, x-ray, special studies, and clinical procedures and provide appropriate care and follow-up. Provide phone consultation for patient complaints and prescription refills. Monitor schedule to ensure maximum patient care and satisfaction.
