The Cardiovascular Physician Assistant will assist the Cardiovascular Surgeon in the provision of preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative care to patients who undergo cardiovascular surgery. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the Organization. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support the Organization’s strategic plan and the goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • State of California Certification as a Physician’s Assistant
  • Satisfactory completion of a formal Physician’s Assistant Training Program at an accredited institution
  • CVT Surgery Management or skill set
  • First and Second assisting on cardiac surgery patients
  • EVH
  • Acute and routine post op care of cardiac surgery patients
  • ICU and Telemetry patient care
  • Knowledge and understanding of customs and beliefs and needs of a consumer group(s) served
  • Preference for individuals bilingual in English and Spanish, written and verbal
  • A current certification in basic CPR
  • DEA License Required
