Full-Time Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
Job Description
We have an exceptional opportunity for a child and adolescent psychiatrist to join our multi-disciplinary team that provides highly-specialized treatment of individuals with eating disorders.
Summary of Major Functions:
The child and adolescent psychiatrist is responsible for providing onsite psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to patients. Completion of initial psychiatric evaluations are completed within 72 hours of admission and patients are seen 2 to 5 times a week. The child and adolescent psychiatrist is responsible for ensuring appropriate psychiatric and pharmacological interventions and is expected to collaborate effectively with the treatment team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The child and adolescent psychiatrist must:
- demonstrate a strong leadership ability and a thorough knowledge of diagnostic psychiatric assessment and related
- psychiatric treatment interventions
- have strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to use electronic medical record
- demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm, a professional manner, and a non-judgmental attitude
- be able to communicate with persons of all educational and cultural backgrounds
- be able to effectively communicate with families of patients
- ability to effectively identify, conceptualize, and communicate criteria specific to the inpatient and residential level of treatment and formulate an effective appeal for insurance carriers as necessary
Qualifications:
The child and adolescent psychiatrist must be a graduate from an approved medical school, have completed an appropriate psychiatric residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship, and hold a valid medical license in the state of Arizona. The child and adolescent psychiatrist must have current Drug Enforcement Agency registration.
