Job Description

We seek a qualified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our orthopaedic spine practice.

Dr. Stieber is a co-founder at OrthoManhattan, a multi-specialty orthopaedic practice located in the heart of midtown Manhattan.   Our goal has been to bring together an outstanding group of experienced orthopedic sub-specialists in a centrally located, state-of-the-art medical office.  As a private-academic practice, we strive to provide concierge care while continuing to actively engage in research and teaching.

All of our partners are board-certified, fellowship-trained, and have been consistently named among Castle Connolly’s Top Doctors and New York’s Best Doctors.

The qualified applicant must possess an active NYS RN and NP license, and be board certified (ANCC/AANP) as a nurse practitioner OR be board certified as a physician assistant.  Candidates with prior experience in orthopaedics or neurosurgery are preferred; however, new graduates are encouraged to apply and will be trained appropriately. All candidates must demonstrate competency with electronic medical records and use of Microsoft Office.

The nurse practitioner/physician assistant will have an interdisciplinary role within our dynamic practice. This includes direct patient care, pre and post-operative management of patients with complex spinal issues, patient and family education, and transitioning patients from hospital to home. Additional administrative tasks, including medical form completion and correspondence with other health care providers, will be required. The NP/PA will also serve to help coordinate research, collecting data pre and post-operatively and facilitating research development. The candidate will also be involved in developing marketing strategies and assisting with practice organization.

Our state of the art office at 485 Madison Avenue (@52nd st.) occupies the entire 8th Floor and features HER, PACS, on-site digital x-ray, physical therapy, and occupational hand therapy.   The office is very well-run and well-staffed with highly experienced staff.

We are located in the heart of New York’s Plaza District, a five-minute walk to the North Entrance of Grand Central Station, within two blocks of the E, M, and 6 subway lines, and within the B, D, F, and M subway lines.

Additional information: This position offers a very competitive salary, benefits, training, and advantages that include hospital privileges at NYU Langone Medical Center.
