Full-Time Nurse Practitioner
Job Description
IUPUI Campus Health—an outpatient ambulatory clinic serving employees and students—is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide primary medical care, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and management of general medical problems for a diverse population.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Nurse Practitioner will serve as an educational resource and will plan or participate in the development of educational material for patients, families and professionals and present educational training and workshops on campus. This individual will also participate in the development and maintenance of health and wellness programs and outreach to the campus community; assist in writing policies and procedures for clinical services; maintain clinical competency in medical and nursing care of patients and stay informed of current trends and developments in nursing practice.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent health assessment and the ability to practice with a significant amount of autonomy and exercise independent judgment. Strong interpersonal skills, be able to influence others, build and maintain positive relationships, effectively work with people of different cultures, and work collaboratively with all levels of health care professionals. An Understanding and an appreciation for student services, take responsibility for solving problems, making improvements, and delivering quality services with a patient-focused mindset in an environment that fosters understanding, highly collaborative teamwork and knowledge sharing.
This position is a .8 FTE, averaging 32 hours a week.
| REQUIRED: Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Nursing and completion of an accredited program for Nurse Practitioner (NP), plus at least 2 years of nursing experience. The NP training program must have been in Adult Medicine, Family Medicine or Women’s Health. Current Indiana RN Licensure and prescriptive authority card from the Indiana State Licensing Agency is required. Must be able to obtain IU Health privileges. |
