Job Description
Southern Michigan Pain Consultants is hiring a full-time Physician Assistant for our Bay City, MI location. We offer employees competitive wages, paid holidays, and paid time off. GENERAL SUMMARY:
The physician assistant renders professional diagnostic and therapeutic medical care to adult patients of all ages under the supervising physician. Clinical privileges are based on academic and clinical experience, clinical judgment, and demonstrated competence in providing medical care services. The physician assistant or nurse practitioner reports directly to the medical director.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Minimum: Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program, current Licensure in the state of Michigan
Work Experience:
Minimum: Two years’ experience working in an appropriate clinical setting
Preferred: Two years’ experience working in an outpatient surgical setting

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- 1. Clinical Care
- Utilize knowledge to provide professional diagnostic and therapeutic services to adult patients of all ages
- Communicate changes in the status of patients to the attending physician as appropriate
- Perform inpatient rounds within hospitals
- Provide care management
- Pump and DCS management
- Provide patient education regarding procedures and medications2. Case Load Management
- Maintain a full schedule per practice template
- Maintain an independent case load and assume responsibility for case load coverage in absence
- Comply with administrative policies regarding corporate compliance, billing, coding, and documentation
