Job Description
Our family medicine practice needs a Physician Assistant who will help cope with our growing roster of patients. We have a total of four medical providers; two Physicians and two currently practicing Physician Assistants at our family clinic. The Physician Assistant will be responsible for taking over many of our new patients as well as some of our existing patients. The Physician Assistant is expected to be a professional who is passionate about family medicine and conservative care. We care about or patients therefore we focus on encouraging our patients to seek preventive care in order to live a healthy, longer, happier life. Physician Assistant Responsibilities
• Create treatment plans
• Treat patients for family medicine ailments and order blood work and other tests as needed
• Prescribe and refill medications as needed
• Provide advice on healthy habits and practices for patients based on their current health status
• Prepare and update patient records through our EHR system
• Establish rapport with patients and encourage them to talk with you openly with confidence to as to build a trusting relationship between provider and patient
• Provide referrals to specialists when required
• Assist practice physicians when needed
• Perform physical examinations, acute care, skin biopsies, consultations, ER follow-up, treat for depression, stress, anxiety, pain, mole and wart removal, toe nail removal, diabetes long-term care, etc.
• Consult with on-site physicians
Physician Assistant Skills
• Unrestricted Physician Assistant license required (certified)
• 2+ years’ experience as a Physician Assistant or graduate who can excel in learning and performance and in growing the practice
• Familiarity with EHR/EMR programs is very helpful
• Confidence to work independently is necessary
• Willingness to take over existing patients as well as take on new patients
