Full-Time Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner
Job Description
Multi-specialty medical center in Rockland county, NY is seeking to hire a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide quality care to adult and pediatric patients.
Requirements:
- Current PA license
- Current DEA license;
- 2+ years of Primary Care/Urgent Care experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills .
Responsibilities:
- Responsible to take, evaluate, and record medical histories and perform physical examination required to evaluate symptoms and diagnose.
- Responsible to order appropriate laboratory studies, x-rays, and other special examinations
- Responsible to analyze, interpret data, formulate diagnoses and problem lists, and establish plans for the management of adult health problems
- Responsible to treat medical problems within your scope of competence as a physician assistant and exercise judgment on problems requiring consultation, referral, or evaluation and review findings as necessary with your supervising provider
- Responsible to counsel patients on medical problems, use of medications, expected effects of treatment, diet, and other health maintenance matters
- Responsible to perform health maintenance for well patients, including administering or supervising immunizations
- Responsible to prescribe medication(s) and monitor side-effects of medication and adverse reactions
- Responsible to provide consultations on complex medical problems to other health care providers
- Responsible to provide health education promoting healthy lifestyles and importance of preventative initiatives in health care
