Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Medical Doctor or Nurse Practitioner specializing in mental health and addiction recovery to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to patient care, a collaborative approach, and a desire to implement innovative treatment modalities within our clinic.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments for patients with mental health and substance use disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based practices tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Prescribe and manage medications as part of an integrated treatment approach.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, nurse practitioners, and support staff, to ensure holistic patient care.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding mental health conditions and treatment options.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Stay informed about advancements in mental health and addiction medicine to incorporate innovative treatments into practice.
Qualifications:
For Medical Doctor (MD) Applicants:
- Medical Doctor (MD) degree with a valid license to practice medicine in the state of New York.
- Board certification in Psychiatry or a related specialty is preferred (Desired but not Required)
- Demonstrated experience in addiction medicine and mental health treatment (Desired but not Required)
Desired but not required For Nurse Practitioner (NP) Applicants:
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric-Mental Health.
- Current and valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of New York.
- Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
Additional Qualifications for Both MD and NP Applicants:
- Strong understanding of evidence-based practices in mental health and addiction recovery.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with medical advancements.
