Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) to join our Radiology Department. The PA-C will work under the supervision of board-certified radiologists and will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care in both diagnostic and interventional radiology settings. This role involves patient assessment, procedural assistance, pre- and post-procedural care, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive histories and physical examinations related to radiologic procedures
- Assess patients pre- and post-procedure, including obtaining informed consent
- Assist in various diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures such as:
- Fluoroscopy (will be trained-up as part of in-house fluoroscopy school)
- CT-guided biopsies
- Ultrasound-guided drain placements
- Vascular access procedures
- Paracentesis and thoracentesis
- Monitor and manage patients during and after procedures
- Document all patient interactions, evaluations, and procedures accurately and in a timely manner in the EMR
- Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, nurses, and referring providers to ensure coordinated patient care
- Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives
- Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery expectations, and follow-up care
- Comply with all institutional policies & safety protocols
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program
- Current PA-C certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of California
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- DEA license required
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or outpatient setting preferred; radiology or procedural experience is a plus
- Strong clinical judgment, procedural skills, and ability to work autonomously within a team environment
