Founding Director of Physician Assistant Program

 

Brescia University, in partnership with the national search firm Scott Healy & Associates, invites applications and nominations for the position of Founding Director of Physician Assistant Program. The Program Director will help develop a new M.S. in Physician Assistant Program, providing oversight and support for an integrated programmatic approach. In addition to administrative responsibility, the Program Director has an assigned teaching load of 3-6 credit hours each semester. This is a 12-month full-time position.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Full program development of a new M.S. in Physician Assistant Studies program, including, but not limited to: program organization, program administration, fiscal management of the program, continuous programmatic review and analysis, program planning, and program and curriculum development and assessment (both didactic and clinical phases).
  2. Completion of ARC-PA required documents and adherence to the standards and ARC-PA policies.
  3. Supervision and oversight of recruitment and retention of program personnel including the PA Program Medical Director, Principal and Instructional Faculty, and program staff.
  4. Teaching load of 3-6 credit hours each semester.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited PA Program.
  • Master’s degree in an applicable field.
  • Current PA license or eligible for licensure in the state of Kentucky.
  • Current certification or emeritus status as a PA-C by the NCCPA.
  • Minimum 3 years of full-time higher education experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of PA clinical practice experience.
  • Experience providing effective leadership.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and proactive problem-solving skills, as well as responsiveness to personnel related issues.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree.
  • Previous full-time higher education experience within a PA program as principal faculty and/or as an administrator within PA program leadership.
  • ARC-PA accreditation process knowledge.
