Summary:
PrimaCARE, a large multispecialty group in southeast Massachusetts, is recruiting an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) to assist 2 orthopedic surgeons in a busy practice emphasizing general adult orthopedics and shoulder surgery. The position is available immediately.
The Physician Assistant will see new and established office patients, delivering both pre- and post-operative care under physician supervision, make hospital rounds, assist with surgery, and will participate in a call schedule.
Salary will be commensurate with training and experience.

The entire Division is staffed by 5 surgeons whose team covers office practices, hospital consultations, and surgical procedures at Saint Anne’s and Charlton Memorial Hospitals and a Same Day SurgiClinic. This candidate will work primarily with 2 of these surgeons.
Prima CARE Orthopedics offers a wide variety of services, including joint replacement, arthroscopy, MAKOplasty, sports medicine, and management of orthopedics injuries. The Division is integrated into the Saint Anne’s JCAHO Center for Orthopedic Excellence and its Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement. Prima CARE has its own Physical Therapy and Rehab Departments.
Interest and experience in orthopedic anatomy/pathology/trauma and common surgical procedures are required. Basic surgical skills are required, including suturing, debridement, incision & drainage, k-wire & hardware removal, closed reduction of fractures and dislocations, and assisting in the OR. Familiarity with office procedures, including orthopedic exam, lab and imaging (plain films, CT, MRI, and bone scans), braces/splinting/casting, aspiration, wound management, compartment pressures, and rehabilitation are desirable. PrimaCARE uses an electronic medical record (eClinicalworks) and the hospitals use either Meditech or Epic.

Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program, licensure as a PA in Massachusetts, and at least one year of experience are required.
