Full-Time Urology Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in Beautiful Central Wisconsin

Job Description

Marshfield Medical Center – Weston is seeking a Urology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in Wausau/Weston, Wisconsin. The NP or PA provides patient services under the supervision of a licensed physician. The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant ensures continuity between clinical practice and standards of care as well as promotes and aids in patient preparation for discharge. This individual works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, case managers, and other health care disciplines utilizing a team approach to healthcare.

 

With this role, a four 10-hour work schedule, or five 8-hour work schedule can be accommodated.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

 

For Nurse Practitioners – Completion of a master’s, post-master’s, or doctorate from a nurse practitioner program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. Current licensure by the applicable state board of nursing for advanced practice.

 

For Physician Assistants – Master’s or Baccalaureate degree. Successful completion of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or its predecessors. Successful completion of the national certifying examination and current certification given by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

 

Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances

 

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.

 

Additional department-specific certifications, licenses, or memberships may be required (varies by department/location).
