Full-Time Urgent Care Physician Assistant

Job Description

Experienced provider, working solo in a fast paced, high volume practice. Well trained support staff and well equipped facilities. Pleasant working environment. Our provider retention speaks well of our practice.

You must hold an active and unencumbered Florida medical license. We prefer to fill this position within the next few weeks. However, we realize that current contractual commitments may require more notice.

Full-time position shifts generally 2-3 twelve hour weekday shifts and alternating weekends.  Hours of operation are 8am-8pm Mon-Fri and 8am-4pm Sat-Sun. Closed for company holidays which include Christmas, New Years, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day and Thanksgiving. These are paid holidays.

Quarterly incentives, $1500 annual CME allowance, company paid holidays and PTO following a 90 day probationary period. Group health, dental, vision and life insurance offered. Following a year of service you may participate in our 401k plan.

Our facilities are licensed by the Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration. All staff must undergo a level 2 background check. We are also a Drug Free Workplace and all new employees must undergo a pre-employment drug screen.

While digital imaging is sent to a radiologist for over-reads, providers must be able to provide a preliminary read. Practitioners should also be comfortable reading electrocardiograms.  Minor surgical procedures include laceration repair, simple foreign body removal, incision and drainage and nail avulsion. Practitioners must be competent in these procedures.

Providers are asked to see patients of all ages. Patients may require referrals following an initial evaluation and exam but not before.

Due to the nature of an urgent care setting, providers are asked to limit their focus to one chief complaint per visit. This is to assist you to keep the patient flow moving.

During season the volume will increase to an average of 50-55 patients a day. As season subsides the volume will drop closer to 40-45 daily.

DOT certification and knowledge of Florida’s worker comp DWC-25 are required.
