BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY:
Provide primary health care and specialized health services to individuals, families, groups, and communities. Diagnose medical conditions, plan and implement interventions, and evaluate patient responses under the direction of and in partnership with a collaborating physician or designated supervising physician. Medical diagnostic, therapeutic, and management functions and instituted under medical supervision using protocols or guidelines developed by the individual services/programs.

EDUCATION:
Required: (Nurse Practitioner Requirements)Current Registered Nurse in the State of Nebraska.

Current BLS Certification.

Licensed as an advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (APRN) in the State of Nebraska.

Master’s degree in Nursing.

Attain nationally recognized certification examination as a nurse practitioner.

Maintain ongoing recertification as APRN

(Physician Assistant Requirements)

Bachelor of Science degree and graduate of an AMA Physician Assistant program. Current BLS certification (BLS with skills assessment or approved BLS). Current PA licensure to practice in the state of Nebraska. Certification by the National Commission of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

Preferred:EXPERIENCE: Currently ACLS Certification
Required: Five or more years clinical experience as Registered Nurse in a related health care setting.Demonstrate leadership and teaching abilities.

Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate in verbal and written form.

Ability to work independently.

Effective critical thinking and analytical skills.

Knowledge of fiscal analysis, word processing, database management, and informatics.

Knowledge of health care policy and societal factors affecting the delivery of health care.
