Full-Time Physician Assistant – Ortho/Spine
Job Description
Norton Medical Group, the practice division of Norton Healthcare, is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant in Spine/Nuero to work in conjunction with other providers in a fast paced orthopaedic practice.
Norton Orthopaedic Care is composed of nearly 40 surgeons practicing a wide range of specialties and subspecialties. These specialists practice a team approach to the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of orthopaedic conditions. Our board-eligible and board-certified physicians together with nurses, therapists, physiatrists and other health care providers to offer advanced, comprehensive orthopaedic care.
The PA demonstrates professional development and clinical competency; provides medical care for patients of all ages according to the practice specialty. Serves in a clinical role to assist the Medical Director/Staff Physician in ensuring total patient care. Interacts directly with patients and patient families to maximize quality patient care. Manages patient appointments as well as other organizational tasks related to the patient and office operations; acts in a clinical leadership role; applies knowledge of growth and development in patient interactions; performs other related duties.
This position is office based to assist Orthopaedic Spine surgeons in seeing patients. This position does not include performing surgery. Candidate should be experienced in reading x-rays, MRI’s, CT scans. Position includes joining other mid-level providers in the practice that function as a multi-provider team, along with two Spine Surgeons. Position includes taking call in rotation with other providers. No E.R. call.
Required
o Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program
o Must be certified as a Physician Assistant by a National Certifying Body
Desired
o CPR certification (within six (6) months of employment)
o One to two years clinical experience preferred
