Full-Time Professional Nurse Practitioner
Job Description
Serves as an advanced practice nurse providing primary level of care in collaboration with physicians and other members of the health care team to a specific patient population in the outpatient and/or inpatient setting. Maintains an advanced knowledge base and skills in health promotion and maintenance, disease prevention, physical and psychosocial assessment, and management of health and illness in the health care of individuals.
Candidate will function in ambulatory and inpatient settings (clinic). Responsible for evaluation and management of patients with arrhythmia ablation and potential/actual cardiovascular disease. Manages acute and chronic cardiac electrophysiology in accordance with established collaborative practice protocols with an emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention.
Assists with non interventional case loads and provides support to UHS clinics and other varied locations. This position will require varied hours on call with the potential for greater than 40 hour work week.
Candidate may be asked to assist with fellows education conference by giving lectures on health promotion and maintenance, disease prevention, physical and psychosocial assessment, and management of health and illness in the health care of individuals. Potential candidate must have excellent communication skills.
State licensure as an Registered Nurse and graduation from a Nurse Practitioner program or Masters degree in Nursing with certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ideal candidate will be Masters prepared with current RN TX licensure, board certification and experience in adult, family practice or acute care. Prefer nurse practitioner or physician assistant with experience in Cardiology and participation as a lead or team member in treating cardiac electrophysiology patients. Candidate should have EMR experience with Allscripts EMR being optimal.
