Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant
Arkansas Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation – North Little Rock, AR

Full Time Mid-level provider (Advance Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant).  We are seeking an APRN or PA for immediate employment. The APRN or PA will be the main provider within the clinic, which will have physician oversight. The Physician Assistant or Advance Practice Registered Nurse operates within the standards of care and scope of practice as defined by the State of Arkansas. The provider must feel comfortable seeing most patients independently, prefer the provider have some internal medicine/primary care experience. The provider must have a current DEA license/certification.  Must be able to see 20 to 25   patients a day. You are covered under our professional liability insurance.  There is no call, weekends, or holidays.

Arkansas Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is a multi-specialty facility providing family medical practice, platelet rich plasma procedures, bio-identical hormone replacement, digital fluoroscopy studies and diagnostic ultrasound of the musculoskeletal system, chiropractic care, physiotherapy, functional capacity assessments, acupuncture, DOT physicals, drug screenings, nutritional and weight loss counseling,

Monday – Thursday
8am – 5pm

Friday

8am – 1pm

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    • Performs comprehensive exams of patients related to family practice issues. Identifies differential diagnoses and establishes priorities of care for the presenting problem.
    • Assists in the development of a treatment plan and appropriate follow up care
    • Communicates pertinent patient information to the supervising physician
    • Educates the patient about the diagnosis and treatment plan
    • Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests
    • Must be able to suture and perform IV’s
    • Obtains informed consent for all procedures
    • Exercises prescriptive authority as outlined in Arkansas statutes
    • Documents patient visit appropriately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
    • Maintains patient confidentiality per HIPPA requirements
    • Keeps current on new knowledge gained from conferences, workshops, professional literature, or other training and assimilates this knowledge into clinical practice
    • Willingness to expand professional knowledge and learn additional diagnostic and treatment procedures
    • Performs procedures in which he/she has knowledge and expertise.
    • Uses advanced knowledge and skills in teaching and guiding clients and other health team members.
    • Uses critical thinking and decision making at an advanced level, commensurate with the autonomy, authority and responsibility of his/her licensure.
    • Recognizes his/her limits of knowledge and experience, planning for situations beyond his/her expertise, and collaborating with or referring to other healthcare providers as appropriate.
    • Retains professional responsibility for advanced practice nursing care when delegating interventions.
    • Maintains current knowledge and skills in the Advanced Nurse Practitioner field.
    • Prescribes legend drugs, therapeutic devises and controlled substances (Schedules III-V) as permitted under Arkansas law, in accordance with written protocols and collaborative practice agreement.
    • Receives and distributes sample drugs and therapeutic devices in accordance with State and Federal Law.
    • Manages the care of and gives direct patient care according to established protocols/guidelines.
    • Provide exemplary customer service to patients, visitors and coworkers.
    • Provide convenient, friendly patient care to all who come through our door seeking health related services.
    • Provide leadership, direction, and assistance during emergencies.
    • Oversees, directs and supports on site laboratory, x-rays, injections, and collections for direct access services.
    • Maintains clinical core competency and required CEU hours.
  • Cooperates and participates in the development, implementation and revision of policies affecting medical practice, quality of care and patient satisfaction.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Customer Service and Communication Skills (both written and oral), Proper telephone etiquette, Microsoft Office, Computer and EHR Skills, Team Player, and a minimum 1 year experience preferred.

EDUCATION:

    • Bachelors Degree
    • Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program
    • National Certification Required
  • BCLS Required

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS

    • Current license or eligible for licensure to practice as an APRN or PA
  • DEA Number
