Job Description
Doctors Making Housecalls is a pioneering, rapidly growing practice of 85 clinicians (50 physicians + 35 non-physician practitioners) providing comprehensive primary care and urgent care services throughout fabulous North Carolina, including the Research Triangle, Pinehurst, Triad, Charlotte, and Asheville areas. We are actively recruiting both newly-minted and experienced, clinically proficient, physician assistants to work with our growing group of internists, family physicians, geriatricians, and podiatrists in caring mainly for complex elderly patients in private residences and assisted living facilities.
Home-based primary care is the “next big thing” in health care delivery! Join our practice and you will provide care where it is needed and appreciated. You will make a difference, and you will also earn better compensation than in any primary care practice.
The successful candidate will be a person who loves taking care of clinically complex patients in a true multi-disciplinary team environment with strong collegial and supervisory support (mainly over the phone and through the electronic medical record), who is conversant with electronic medical records and understands the importance of documenting comprehensively. Your productivity-based compensation will be well above what primary care PAs/NPs earn in North Carolina — well into six figures for a full-time commitment.
We also offer flexible scheduling for those seeking a better balance between professional commitments and personal interests, and the deep satisfaction the comes with providng care to patients who need and appreciate your help. The practice is outpatient only with easy, phone-only on-call responsibilities.
Our nationally renowned practice was one of only 16 selected to participate in CMS’s ground-breaking demonstration program called “Independence At Home.” Success in the demonstration will transform the role and status of primary care in the profession, the compensation of primary care providers, and the delivery of care to high-needs, high-cost patients living at home. In short, our practice gives you an opportunity to significantly influence the practice of medicine for many years to come.
Certification as physician assistant obtained or pending, with a keen interest in managing complex clinical problems in internal medicine, geriatrics, family medicine, palliative care, pain management, and/or mental health.
